Agreement on d2d 1996
A simple question- is this agreement still in force?
I am specifically interested in the section at the top of page 8 which says that this agreement has been 'jointly endosed' (RM &CWUI?) and states that 'It is accepted that the principle of Door to Door being paid as a unit payment is that it will be absorbed within normal duty time' and the section at top of page 9 which states '...sufficient time will be given for the preparation and delivery of Door to Door items within normal duty span'.
I ask because everyone I've asked in our office believes they have to come in before their start time to prep their D2D - or stay after their shift ends to prep it then. A few have said they would like to start at their official time but can't because they are told by managers that D2D has to be prepped in their own time. I asked rep but he said he hadn't come across this agreement before and wasn't sure if it would still be valid due to it being from 1996.
cheers.

NOT AGAIN!!!!!!!ARRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
You are the poster number 1000 to ask this question and you win a prize!!!!!!
Ok only kidding, this topic does things to me,go back and tell your managers that they are talking bollox.
D2D prepping is in your duty time, under no circumstances should you be forced to do it in your own time..............period!!!
If you guys can't do it in your duty time then it is tough on RM.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Are you sure? I just want to be 100% certain that this Agreement is still in force before telling everyone they are being misled.
I wouldn't hit him he's a good rep but like everyone else in our depot believes we have to prep in our own time. Some guys loose a lot of time thru the week coming in early for nothing then?

Our DO says D2Ds are absorbed into the normal workload and also as the 1996 agreement is the latest one it is still current.
Where else would a boss expect you to come in early to do a part of it just because you get an allowance for it.

Now don't spoil things or you wont get that prize of yours
Print of said agreement, take to said reppy, give said reppy the clip round the ear(run if he's a biggen) get said colleagues one by one tell them the score(nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
Get said colleagues to whistle while they work, prepp your work then start sorting and prepping the said D2D'S.
After a while the dims or dimesses will start to wonder wtf is going on,and realise that the whole office will be late out and cut offs could be the order of the day.
They will then scream and shout with steam blowing out of their ears, while you guys will be laughing in their faces.
With any luck some of you will be threatened with suspension or some bollox like that.
Please remember to keep the said agreement hidden from their view.
I'll now leave it to you to decide when to get the agreement out and insert it up their rectums.
I thank you.
