no reserveed rights driving allowance 7.5 ton in way foreward. only old £6 light van money.

7.5 ton driving allowance, which is now payed as an increase in basic pay for the new profesional grade drivers, is pay protected under the MTSF2 agreement.

give more details of your situation and i will try and be more specific.
eg
duty holder? if not then no protection at all
type of duty?
how long held?
when any allowance was payed/stopped
ect

i'm not computer savy enough to provide a link, but perhaps true blue terrier could assist?
your rep should be able to provide a copy, as should your manager.

mtsf2 is a hefty document covering a load of "surpless employee" situations and solutions.

the relevent section that you require is the section on Pay Protection.

This essentialy states that when you loose a duty due to Management led change, and subsequently pick up a duty with less favourable pensionable pay, as a duty holder your pensionable pay and allowances are protected for a number of years at the original level, dependant on how long you have been in reciept of the allowance.

Up to april07 7.5 ton duty holders received aprox £26 per week pensionable driving allowance.
This money is now incorperated in to professional driver grade basic pensionable pay.

for info- staff who held a 7.5 ton driving duty when the way forward was signed(2000) and subsequently choose to, or had to, pick up a light van duty, are entitled to the £6 reserved rights light van driving allowance. this rule can be found in a fairly rare document that was published as a supliment to the way foreward, some time after the original agreement.
