Madness due
Sport in weekend will be more difficult to attend
Piss off more customers
Summer heat
I thought Alan and Al are football fans and understand we like to watch Sport in the weekend. I will not work past 1.15pm on Saturday.
Also if more post person working on longer walks we will be too tired to do anything and off sick with injuries / exhaustion.

Re: later finish
I thought Flexability would stop overtime completely so hitting them in the docket area would'nt work.If postmen dont stop dashing about using cars etc we will all be working till 5 o clock do the job properly hit them where it hurts on your docket.
It's about time we took a stand, finishing later 3,4 or 5 pm is stupid, why bother going home................Or are we being brought into line with other companies like UPS, Business Mail, UK Mail etc.
Thanks to the YES voters
Trust Royal Mail? God help us all.....

I am sorry but if they ever went 9-5 then the calibre of posties would go down faster than a lead lined balloon full of concrete dropped from a tall building. How many people stay being posties because the early finish attracted them, or it fitted into their life style. How many part timers would jack it in because of a second job. How many marriages have both partners working and one of them is a postie, they would jack it in.
The job would only be of value to mothers with kids of school age, students at college/university, "Job Seekers" who have been forced to apply for the job. Of course they are others like junkies and alcoholics who cant get another job. If this is the calibre of people AL and AC want then they'd better get more call handlers at their call centres because complaints will go through the roof. IBS will have to expand because there will be more dumping and theft of mail.
The futures bright the futures

Re: later finish
Because of the revision by a stupid computer system some of our rounds dont finish till 3 on a regular basis. We have walking deliveries that take 4 - 4.30 hours to complete, and van deliveries that are 3.30 hours????black biro wrote:got told to-day that they are going to try to get us to finish between 3-4 o,clock

Re: later finish
Of course it was the YES vote.
Crozier and Leighton could only dream about how it gave theml a mandate for massive change without consultation.
We joined the Post to start early and finish early. It was the attraction of the job. Voting yes allows managment to basically do what they want now. And dont tell me it wasn t the yes vote. You are seeing it posted on this website every day. Changes in offices all around the country, managers becoming more and more beligerent and the only answer is 'Do the job properly'. Well I do and the funny thing is the more I do the job properly the more management want out of me.
