I tested positive for covid on Monday, informed my manager that I had covid . He said that I could still go to work if I was able to . I declined as not feeling well and not wanting to put others at risk . He has rung me this morning saying that HR has asked him for a screen shot of NHS email you get after you register a positive test . I haven't registered my positive test as apparently you don't have to anymore.
Basically, is he just bullshitting me ?

Re: Positive covid test
I believe that Covid is now treated the same as any other illness/injury as far as the attendance procedure and sick is concerned.

Re: Positive covid test
So basically if I'm off on the sick and self certifying HR and NHS letters don't come into the equation!

Re: Positive covid test
I was off after testing positive recently.
Nobody asked me to prove anything and I don't know what screenshot he is on about.
If it smells like bullshit .......

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Positive covid test
From 24 February 2022, colleagues will no longer be legally required to self-isolate. If you test positive for Covid, you are still advised to stay at home and avoid contact with others for at least five full days. It will not be necessary for you to provide evidence of a positive test, although you can if you wish to do so. You will however need to complete an absence self-declaration form for any absence of seven days or less. For absences of more than seven days, you should obtain a fit note from your GP. This is in line with our normal approach to sickness absence.
In addition, any Covid-related absences which start on or after 1 March 2022, may count towards Royal Mail’s attendance procedure. This is in line with the normal approach taken for all other sickness absences.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Positive covid test
Royal Mail management has never given a fcuk about Covid right from the start. Why not tell the person with Covid they can attend work but must start later to avoid spreading it to other staff?

Re: Positive covid test
You don't have to register covid tests anymore and haven't needed to for at least a year.

I'm not even sure if the tests you can buy in supermarkets (as I've never used one) even have the relevant code on them??
Ask your manager to provide details of who you need to speak to in HR!
