Declaration of war on Royal Mail

Post by the undertaker »

I have declared war on royal mail.the opening shots were fired yesterday by bringing back 10 parcels, not a word was said,a line manager glared at me [1 use the term manager frivolously] so i showed him my teeth.stage 2 of the campaign began today with much vigour, enjoyed 40 mins meal break, had coffee, toast, watched tv and played pool all by myself.spent 15 mins checking van [sat in van with coffee with and cigarette] then told line manager i was unable to complete my delivery,he said he would pay overtime,i told him to stick the overtime sideways with no lubrication and that i am protected by law to do only my contracted hours,he then tried to bully me and told me to start 1 hour later the next day and do a different delivery,no way i replied, the wind of change will blow you away, daubing yourself with red paint will not save you from being culled.1 left 40 parcels behind, what am i to do with them he exclaimed?you are the manager you sort it i replied.i had a wonderful day,did my delivery feeling relaxed and refreshed.i strongly recommend that everyone who reads this posting will do the same.do your job properly, take your meal break, ridicule your line manager.you are fully protected by your union and royal mail policy.if i am to be a lone crusader in my delivery office so be it,but will appeal to my fellow blue shirts to follow my lead.thankyou for reading, keep it very very spiky :Very Happy

Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.

I agree!
If you're going to do the job by the book, make sure you are squeaky clean & they can't get you for ANYTHING. Believe me, they will be looking out for any small misdemeanour!!!

Don't ridicule your Manager either, or they'll do you for B&H. I know it's tempting, but it isn't worth giving them something to discipline you for.

You'll plough a lonely farrow. I know I've been there. The best thing is try to be consisitant and don't get too isolated from your colleagues. Good Luck!

Can make the job even worse than it is as you'll have all that on top of the work in hand - every day. But agree - wish you luck
