I am currently off work with depression and chest infecetion at the moment realy am finding it difficult to cope with things because of personal reasons, now i spoke to my line manager yesturday and i said i will defo be in on wednesday, now this depression has got so bad i aint sleeping aint eating and is really killing me. So my mum has rang my line manager but being a line manager he doesnt answer so shes left a message on his fone to imform him i wont be in the rest of the week so she wil be able to keep an eye on me. I am only an 19 year old lad, and im suffering so badly!
Now when i go back to work when i am better, i understand that i would have triggered a stage warning, as this is my forth absance and currently i will be off for longer than how many days i have got left, now being depressed at my age it aint helping, I am going to have to go doctors tomorow to get maself a sick note, now if i get a sick note, are they and knowing its a geniune illness will they go lightly on me, O yh and i have beening working at Royal Mail for over a year and couple of dates.
Any ideas what will happen thanks alot all!

Sorry to hear about your plight newpostie and i and all on the site hope you get well soon mate.Unless your other 3 absences have all been related and not for different things then most if not all managers will issue stage 1s.They will tell you that they are not questioning the genuineness of your absence but you have broken the standards and reckon by issuing you a stage 1 you will some how improve

Actually just jumping in with my Moderator hat on, I don't think it was that bad you should see some of the grammar and spelling on other threads. Occasionally it beggars belief and looks like a foreign language.Darren wrote:Sorry to hear of your problems but can you type your message properly, you are not texting anyone, depressed or not writing like that is just a pain in the arse to read.

I have worked with "newpostie" and he's good at his job! It really pixxez me off to see hard working new recruits being abused by harsh management.
RM should pay far greater attention to STAFF WELFARE!!! Obviously efficiency and profits matter, but if the staff are ill or unhappy, then the whole company is a Christmas Turkey!.........i.e. STUFFED!!!!!!!!!
