Royal Mail enquiry

Post by Redacer »

With the Post Office Enquiry going on what about a Royal Mail Enquiry.

Hundreds of postmen and womens lives were ruined and put on hold after being suspended and sacked during the dispute. Many were suspended and sacked after undergoing Kangaroo court investigations after being maliciously accused by so called managers and in cases colleagues. Pay outs have been made after the independent investigations into these trumped up charges and wrongdoing but what has happened to the people who made these false accusations. Everything should be transparent and justice should be sought.

It’s a nice thought, but Post Office Enquiry is no more than “Eastenders” for all.
An awful thing for all to go through, but no charges will come of it, no individuals responsible will suffer in the same sense of those sent to jail.
As a sacked Union Rep, would you want to come back knowing you where sent to the wolves by the very people you where representing!

Sadly, RM are owned by a private company who are only answerable to shareholders. This government sold it off so they are never going to apply any pressure on the company because that would be admitting they made a mistake in selling off what is a vital part of the UK’s infrastructure.

A small minority... the Judas's amongst the disciples. Sadly that's all it took, such was the febrile paranoia raging at that time. Still is to some extent...you still need to watch your back.

Get a grip the two things just aren’t comparable. Group of people being jailed and given criminal records by company incompetence and deceit in one hand and on the other a disgruntled group of employees mostly with chips on their shoulders ffs give it a rest

It is only that you have a contract of employment that you are partially protected, those subpostmasters did not have that protection. However, having gone through the grievance procedure for the arrogant and disgusting manner in which I was treated by a manager for me basically adhering to my contract of emplyment, I can tell you that the whole management structure of Royal Mail is no different to that of The Post Office. The whole process was conducted by Human Resources who did everything they could to delay, obstruct and attempt to minimise my grievance and begrudgingly eventually admit in writing that I had been treated unfairly and their answer was to arrange a meeting with the two of us and his manager to find a way in which we could work together. I rejected that offer.
So although I cannot compare what happened to me compared to a sub postmaster as their problems were criminal investigations and severe financial problems for them and their families, the way post people are being treated should not be minimised.
