What happened to Simon Thompson?

What happened to the most hated man in Royal Mail history, yes the whole 500 years. When he left disgracefully last May, he was removed from workplace, allowed to post a resignation message and that's it. He has disappeared of the face of the planet, not a word since. A quick Google search only shows him as a laughing stock. Seems a bit strange that the big man is nowhere to be seen. Is it the end of his business career or is he having a change of heart, maybe he is hiding in the far east, and converted to Buddhism. Any ideas anyone?
