And how long are you on a stage 2 before it gets rescinded?

Think it's 1 year now before either a Stage 1 or Stage 2 expires. Don't know off-hand if an expired Stage 2 gets downgraded to a Stage 1.

RM seem to have shot themselves in the foot again…for this reason if I were you I would not go back until 110%, nhs staff are subject to the same attendance procedure and so are pretty understanding/happy to sign you off for as long as you need

Assuming you are not a triallist it will take 3 absences or 12 days in the 12 months after the stage 2 has been issued (and it will only be issued if you have had 3 absences or 12 days since the stage 1 was issued) to trigger consideration of dismissal.

In my experience it actually seems quite hard to get sacked due to sickness. I work in an office that has over 150 OPG’s and I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of people that have reached the consideration of dismissal stage over the last 10 years and the couple that actually were dismissed won their appeal and got their job back.

Doesn't make sense that you lose your job....especially if it was for a few short term problems....

I had no time off for a year and then I had 3 absences in a short period of time and I am currently on a stage 2....

would be ridiculous if say I got covid and had to take 4 days off and got stage 3 and dismissed.
