RMCtv : Building Customer Trust - Scan It
In a single recent week, more than 950,000 barcoded items did not receive a Ready for Delivery scan, meaning almost one million customers did not get their expected tracking information.
In this film, the latest in our Building Customer Trust series, we focus on the must-do scans posties should make at the delivery office, to ensure our customer promises are fulfilled.
Hear from Plymouth's trainee PCOM Mark Tungate and postie Ryan Knight, who share what scans to do, when and why.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The f**k is this company smoking. Who's even watching these. No WTLs so no time for it.
I swear I work for a different company sometimes. Our DO is f****d with little care for QofS or building customer trust.

Re: RMCtv : Building Customer Trust - Scan It
In the same week, how many customers didn’t receive letters because posties had been told to ‘Just deliver the tracked’?
’You can't just ask customers what they want and then try to give that to them. By the time you get it built, they'll want something new.’

We didn't get told anything. Our COM is f***ing pathetic. No leadership. No guidance. No help what so ever. We failed tracked and letters. I was delivering mothers day cards today. There is still more in the frame. Its f***ing wild in our DO.

Customers are immaterial.
Letters are not important.
Employees are just a number.
Duties not getting covered is good.
Profit is king, you can ignore EVERYTHING else.
Shareholders will receive there dividends this year & in turn that will allow Directors, etc to receive there’s.
It’s a mad mad company now & it’s going to get worse!

What a load of rubbish ,parcel drivers throwing parcels back into posties yorks not delivering, new parcel drivers leaving parcels on doorsteps ,bins and signing for parcels and doorstepping, extra 1 hour added to walks ,collections gone through the roof,re-delivery of parcels next day,no added time ,and lets hear how many people complain of missed and lost letters probably more than parcel complaints. There is only one group of people to blame for this mess and this is management ,it has now become an impossible job and unless they make walks manageable and add extra time for all the new services it will only get worse ,much worse. Now lets see a video from posties telling management they have to do better because its all their fault why we are in this mess and we will carry on losing money until they properly address this chaos.

Loads of quality control cards being put into collection boxes over weekend. Make sure every last letter is collected on time so they can sit in a sorting frame for the next week. You couldn't make it up

Re: RMCtv : Building Customer Trust - Scan It
I'm not watching that s**t so I assume they're talking about tracked items, I fully expect we might accidentally miss the odd one or two since we started being responsible for scanning at our fittings but that sounds like a hell of a lot 950k.
Anyway wtf's a trainee PCOM ?
Anyway pt2 I couldn't give a f**k, I know it's totally the wrong attitude if it's possibly hindering the company I work for from growing their business, if they did they wouldn't provide me with any more time to do the extra parcel work by reducing the size of my duty accordingly.

While I kind of agree with this, the problem is the company isn’t making money right now. Shareholder payments are public record, as are accounts, and RM is consistently making losses, so their plan isn’t working.Jb1969 wrote: ↑11 Mar 2024, 21:42Customers are immaterial.

What I find most annoying about this video, is the use of the term ‘promise’. As far as I am aware, the time derived from the indoor scan is an estimate, not a promise. Customers are becoming increasingly hostile when we deliver items outside their delivery window, which kind of defeats the purpose. It isn’t a promise or guarantee.

Re: RMCtv : Building Customer Trust - Scan It
The only doorstepping I have encountered is from the old-guard themselves, not new starters. Here is a photo of a blatant doorstepping — delivered by none other than our union rep! I only took a photo of it because he (union rep) has been the principal source of derogatory talk of new starters, spouting identical nonsense to the above. I encouraged the customer, who returned home as I was stood on his doorstep with his parcel, to complain, and I showed the photo to the manager. As for returning non tracked to posties’ Yorks, perhaps the manager has instructed them to do so? I have the opposite problem: posties dumping their packets, even if it’s not on my route, into my yorks. This results in them being unmanifested and not receiving the RfD scan! I do deliver them!!guardianangel wrote: ↑11 Mar 2024, 21:50What a load of rubbish ,parcel drivers throwing parcels back into posties yorks not delivering, new parcel drivers leaving parcels on doorsteps ,bins and signing for parcels and doorstepping…

Re: RMCtv : Building Customer Trust - Scan It
Numerous times I’ve had my PDA crash when scanning parcels in and then I’ve had to do them all again.
I mean if we actually had proper time to scan them in properly then maybe we wouldn’t have these issues. The office I’m at has really high tracked scores as most of us single prep. If you’re double or triple prepping then scans will inevitably get missed.
This is just another problem of competing against the gig economy and companies that have never made a profit.

We have Ryde agency staff in the afternoon and they are useless. They deliver parcels to street half a mile away and leave everything on the doorstep. As for the newer starters that are left they seem to do the job properly.Smoothbackground wrote: ↑12 Mar 2024, 05:53The only doorstepping I have encountered is from the old-guard themselves, not new starters. I did last week see that an Amazon driver door stepped an 50 inch TV on my delivery so I don’t think we are that bad yet.
