There is a shortage of lightweight golf trolleys in our office. Considering they made all the loops bigger, we need them more than ever. It's funny how when the van goes for a "non"service all the bags and trolleys have vanished.

When P&L was rolled-out in our office in 2011 very few walks had LWT use mandated for any of their loops - the local geography does not lend itself to their use.

Some areas where they were specified I believed the security risk was too high, while other areas that would have been perfect were defined as bag on shoulder (and not even the mini starburst pouches). Around four dozen LWTs languished in the unused smokers' shed for short of a decade before disappearing.

Personally, I believe the lightweight trolleys were one of the few (only?) postitives we got out of the deal that brought even longer and even later deliveries.

I actually find they cause more wear on my body than just shouldering a pouch. We have just made our loops smaller and pull anything heavy out on oversize.

Which is the exact of opposite of RMs plans for the future. They want larger loops that would make using a trolley non negotiable. They want the paired van duties to be in and at the van as little as possible.

The time they think they are going to save from posties talking to each other will pale in comparison to the time they will lose because of the extra time it will take to lump super sized loops about.

More or less all using light weights now. All of them broken and held with string and hazard tape.

Years of using a LWT caused an Inguinal Hernia for me which had to be operated on and a lengthy absence from work. I haven't used one since.

One or 2 use the lightweights but the loops are doable on shoulder unless the mail and parcels have built up a bit.

I don't see how a light weight trolley can cause an inguinal hernia. Maybe lifting it in and out of the van?
Most men over 50 have one. It is a design fault.
I'd blame God before the lwt.

Hernia's, bad backs, faulty knees are likely all due to carrying overweight bags on the shoulder. I don't use one all the time but a trolley is handy when one of the loops has excess packets and I don't fancy driving round and getting in and out of the van

Yes, I try to lighten the bags by taking what I can out and drive them around, but sometimes there’s too many so I put two bags on a lwt. Not ideal but, as you say, useful sometimes. I won’t carry a heavy bag on my shoulder. Some fools carry two heavy bags.
