heard a rummour that the vans from edinburgh are to leave later this will mean we would have to move our start times again and finnish later does anyone know if this is true i would av posted this in the union room but i am forbidden why is this

also heard that rm are trying to get us finnishing later last letter 3 pm has anyone any info about this

Chances are RM will do as they please, the union won't give a toss, same old story.. Could go on strike but the public would assume we were after more money and not trying to protect the service they receive so no point to that either as no support from them. Writing a letter to the papers may be an option, but who believes whats written in them filthy rags. Could write to an MP but the government want to see the UK postal industry shafted every way possible.

Hmmm, choices choices.. The goalposts will be forever on the move with them two w***ers at the wheel until such time as they have majority part-time, afternoon deliveries and a shoddy service with pish-poor pay and conditions but with substantial bonuses for the select few muppets running the show!

Our second feed driver told us last week that our second feed which used to arrive at 6.30 will now arrive at 7.00.

yes but they have applied to regulator for the last letter to be 3 pm for the town walks

Some of the mech guys on the night shift were told this in their WTL session last week. They were the only ones told though ! They said that the night shift start times may be changed again so that everyone finished at 7am instead of 6am. I don't know all the details though. Maybe if someone else knows more details they could let us know. I don't know why they want to do this anyway. The warehouse staff never had their times changed at all , and the back shift have gone back to almost their original times (e.g. they used to finish at 21-50 , they now finish at 21-57). It doesn't make sense to me to change one shifts start times but leave the rest alone. I mean , it's a 24 operation in a mail centre , surely it would make more sense to adjust the work plans to meet the despatch times rather than f**k about with the staff all the time.

RM have applied to postcon and are confident of getting the USO moved to 15:00 for town and 16:00 for rurals.

Could someone post a link to the agreement that last letter delivery must be before 2pm for towns? I've never seen it, only heard it as a 'rumour'.

the USO aint an agreement asbru its postcons rules. The universal service means that anyone in the UK can post letters and parcels to any other part of the country at the same affordable rates. And it guarantees one delivery of mail for every UK household and business, each working day, and one collection of mail, six days a week.

I think all posties should oppose this. CWU agreement is only til 2pm. This isn't flexibility. Everyone who can't accommodate should write to CWU headquarters and ask for constructive dismissal.
