Junk Mail massive increase
In my opinon
Junk Mail increase due to
1. Cheap Broadband / more Broadband access which means people can surf on the internet a lot longer.
2. Companies collect information much better with access to databases from online shopping/enquiry
3. Downstream access mean cheaper postage cost, mean more money for marketing.
4. Competition encourage more junk mail produced.
It is not good for environment and hopefully 95% of junk mail is already use recycled papers.

I deliver so much scam letters to the same addresses it is really unbelievable, one gets at least 10 per day (mostly from the US) but on most occasions I have to take them out of the slot and bundle them up as bulk and start again
So much for the (mythical) reduction in volumes

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

it the same as me taking my car to a garage for a service and them paying someone else to do it cheaper..........
the contract is with the 1st garage as is the mail contract with those who collect it let them bloody well deliver it.......that would be fair competition

I understand what you are saying but the truth is, we would be in massive trouble if they collected that mail on a friday AND THEY DELIVERED it on the Saturday.eian687 wrote:got no real problem with junk mail but its great when uk mail and the others collec on a friday and we get the crap on a saturday and there staff are working mon-fri

Actualy no,they would be in massive trouble. With a fraction of the market share they would be unable to sustain a delivery network,or put another way the massive increase in charges they would have to introduce simply to cover costs would ensure they lost all their customers overnight.DOM wrote:I understand what you are saying but the truth is, we would be in massive trouble if they collected that mail on a friday AND THEY DELIVERED it on the Saturday.eian687 wrote:got no real problem with junk mail but its great when uk mail and the others collec on a friday and we get the crap on a saturday and there staff are working mon-fri

No it's not, it's a scam. As far as I can see, all our supposed "competitors" do, is put their mark in the top right-hand corner of an envelope, and thenDOM wrote:That's business.eian687 wrote:down stream access is a joke

pass it on to Royal Mail as they cannot go any further in their pretence of being a postal CARRIER.

If they collected the mail on Friday then it would be likely that they'd try to deliver it by the following SaturdayDOM wrote:I understand what you are saying but the truth is, we would be in massive trouble if they collected that mail on a friday AND THEY DELIVERED it on the Saturday.eian687 wrote:got no real problem with junk mail but its great when uk mail and the others collec on a friday and we get the crap on a saturday and there staff are working mon-fri
Junk mail is one thing but the problem I have is the scam mail ie. You may have already won $25000 plastered all over the outside of the envelope.
