I have an ongoing musculoskeletal issue which I can't shrug off....
I try to put as little strain as possible on my body from day to day in the hope that my injury will heal....
It is not affecting my ability to work at a good level....
It is affecting my sleep....
I was wondering if there is any help/rules that can get me ~4weeks off work to see if my body will fix itself, alongside a recovery programme of exercises......I am happy to do this unpaid....
but maybe if I go to the doctor they would sign me off work for some weeks....but if not, how easy is it to get a month of unpaid leave for injury recovery? or would Royal Mail not give a cr@p about me as I can work with the injury with no issues?

If your sick record allows just phone in sick ?
After a week get a line from the Doctor and rehabilitate the body and mind. Phone up once a week till your ready to come back. It does annoy me watching people struggle day to day , living in fear of our employer.

Get your quack to sign you off for as long as it takes, your health is more important, enjoy Christmas.

Can they use it against you if you get signed off work for a month and have been off before for the same issue..... at what point can Royal Mail say.... 'you're not fit enough for this job - you keep having days off for this issue'..... or something along those lines?

If you are within RM Attendance procedure you are OK otherwise management may refer you to Occupational Health.norris9 wrote: ↑09 Nov 2023, 16:52Can they use it against you if you get signed off work for a month and have been off before for the same issue..... at what point can Royal Mail say.... You could request a career break, anything up to 2 years, it is meant to be a minimum of 6 months but from personal experience there is wriggle room in this.
