Stage 1
I have been off sick with severe depression. On my return my manager immediately put me on a stage and handed me the paperwork. No interview took place and he issued the stage on the same day that I returned to work. The OHS report states that I’m covered under the equality act. Basically the act of putting me on a stage is illegal. I desperately trying to find contact information to hr so I can tell them. I’m certainly thinking about going to acast over this. My depression has regressed after three days of returning to work. So will probably be on a second stage.

Re: Stage 1
this is the new agreement the cwu agreed to is that on the day you return to work you have a meeting and then they decide if you get a stage or not on that day , BUT you should have had a rep in with you to fight your corner against it and as you are covered by ohs so he shouldnt have given you it
, if i was you i would contact your area rep asap to appeal against it and inform ohs and tell them you would like to put a grievance in against the manager as well . hope you get it sorted

Re: Stage 1
I didn’t even get a stage meeting. Had my back to work talk. Then later in the day the manager gave me my stage paperwork and told me to sign it.

Re: Stage 1
To be honest I went back to work for three days. I found that I was exhausted.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Stage 1
In My experience Management will automatically stage any person not achieving RM attendance standard ,
they are just a Bunch of bullies who don’t see the individual.
Depression ,Anxiety or any other Mental Health issue is a Real Fxxxer to deal with and I truly sympathise with you but don’t let RMs meaning less stage process Grind you down.
Let it go ,and focus on the most important person, yourself and get out of the cycle of depression.
