BB what area are you,i'll have a word with our collection drivers tomorrow if i can, last i heard though in London there was something brewing, can't remember whether p/t was mentioned though.
I'm an ex collection driver and they always seem to look at it as one they can cut back on.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Phase 2 of the agreement is to allow flexibilty. Not cuts. Work out your summer weeks,(weeks 10 -21 i think).
If you can get flexibility off this..fine.For example.Start your Monday collections early, get your main boxes done first.
Get it to the mail centre.Than another sweep of your other boxes.Remember start your Monday collections 30 minutes early. That extra time will/should be spread out over Tues-Thurs.Agree that that extra time is claimed back within
7 days.Anything overtime on a Friday should be paid as overtime as you HAVE TO MAINTAIN EARNINGS POTENTIAL.
Anything to do with cover for one another is Phase 3.DO NOT ENTER THIS UNTIL PHASE 2 IS SIGNED OFF.

I've heard all collections from post boxes are now to be trayed up before being taken to the MC.

Try doing that in the City of London, you'd be there for an hour or two on each post box.

Im in the north of England Postman.

Any collection operations given new vans when the late starts came in ?
We've been struggling for them ever since,Im pushing for more vans but local management say "we cant get them "
If any op has had new vans it would help my case if youd let me know.

Many thanks.

We got 2 hire vans in whenever the later starts came in and we still have them, otherwise the collections would not get done :so there
