The VR that RM have recently offered out at a reduced offer minus the initial 6k.
Also known as a settlement payment so don't know why its called VR.
Is it taxable?

Re: VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY
But it's classed as a settlement payment not VR.
That's the difference

Re: VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY
They wont need to 4 have left in our office this week thats 14 in the last 2 months, the new girl that come in 3 weeks ago failed to turn up and jacked it in already, royal mail have got one hell of a problem on their hands when Amazon deliveries look more attractive,no one anymore wants to walk 5 hours for a pittance and degraded terms, they have to realise since we have come out of the EU there isn't a large pool of people in the workforce. There is constantly 5 walks uncovered every week in our office now with no dedicated postman its just being picked up on overtime but even people are getting fed up with that. With complaints soaring and royal mail becoming one of the least trusted it wont be long before we have to change our name like Hermes.

Re: VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY
So short staffed that RM sacked/suspended/Investigated post staffs for the flimiest reason, just read that up North in Merseyside 6 posties were suspended. for having cup of tea in a pub during their meal breaks with access to toilet facilities.
That really does wonders for industrial relations.

Re: VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY
It was actually 11 but 3 were reinstated almost immediately. What's equally disturbing is that the managers there are now blaming these posties for the offices' failings to take the heat off themselves!

Re: VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY
I was told by the local Evri driver that they are on 80p per parcel and get an average of 130parcels a day. Sometimes more. It’s job and knock and basically work when you want. They can quite easily clear £500 a week with no one breathing down their necks and no clocking up 60 miles walking a week.
Future for a walker is skin cancer, bad knees, arthritis in shoulders due to years of carrying bags and many other problems. I know many who have these problems and it’s getting worse with time. The future is bleak.

Re: VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY
I left during the dispute took the extra 6k not taxed in fact the tax man gave me a rebate because I left before the end of the tax year and also I've never been happier since I left good luck to those that remain as nothing I hear when I speak to ex colleagues sounds good

Probably 130 drops a day, so how much job-and-knock or "work when you want" is he going to get in reality?Shirtbuttons wrote: ↑13 Aug 2023, 12:34I was told by the local Evri driver that they are on 80p per parcel and get an average of 130parcels a day. Most of them still seem to be out delivering 7/8pm, and he probably is too.

£0.80 x 130 = £104 (evri)
£14 x 7&1/2hours = £105 (rm)
Still prefer RM to evri. evri probably still needs to pay for fuel / van wear / etc
Postie job is getting fecked, but i still like it but not as much as i used to. I fear it'll get worse.

Re: VOLUNTARY REDUNDANCY
Didn't a lot of people get shafted on that £6k? same way a lot of leavers where shafted on their accumulated holiday pay
