They can't afford it at the moment and are waiting until volumes and therefore income picks up.

It does seem a long way off, and I was hoping they could at least fast track the £500 lump sum
for our long suffering postal staff.
CWU should get their fingers out

It gives them a couple of months to think of an excuse not to pay it!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

Re: why 29th september for lump sum ?
Maybe it takes time to coordinate the two payments considering they have to account for pro rata payments and also combine this with the other pension sourced lump sum and combine them into the same payroll.
Maybe worry about it if it doesn’t happen?

It’s also St Michaels Day.
In the past all monies owed had to be paid.

Re: why 29th september for lump sum ?
I reckon it will take time to cash in the pension surplus
Why combine the two?
I reckon we will just get 1400 tops and maybe RM hoping pension comes in at 1200 so only have to pay 200 lump sum?
Possible

Re: why 29th september for lump sum ?
I’m leaving RM in the middle of September, just wondering if I will still be eligible for the payment.
To be honest if I do it will be a bonus, if not I’m just glad to get out after 25 years.

Those working on 4 Aug qualify
But I wouldn’t trust them
Why not just work 2 extra weeks for £1,400
You know it makes sense

This Friday, 4th of August is the cut-off date so you will still get it.scotboyblue wrote: ↑02 Aug 2023, 10:27I’m leaving RM in the middle of September, just wondering if I will still be eligible for the payment.

To answer the original question, it probably takes time to cash in the insurance bond from the pension plan to pay the 'at least' £900 as for the £500 they just want to make or save a bit of interest on our money so they plan to pay them both together.

My opinion is they have pushed it until the 29th September whilst they quickly put the changes in place to see if there’s a reaction from the union/unofficial industrial action. I am a cynic though.

That crossed my mind too. They have definitely bent the rules on the agreement already especially with the sickness changes.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑02 Aug 2023, 19:01My opinion is they have pushed it until the 29th September whilst they quickly put the changes in place to see if there’s a reaction from the union/unofficial industrial action.
