Holiday leave purchasing

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I've been purchasing annual leave for years but have recently hit the 15 year service milestone, so should the amount I'm paying eventually decrease as leave entitlement goes up after 15 years service ? Yes I realise you have to work to accumilate the days etc

Hopefully that makes sense, we've got no rep and I've been meaning to ring up HR.

See following list of the applicable reductions, presumably you were being deducted the over 5 years rate of 2.6% if you were taking the full 6 weeks available.

On Entry: Four and a half week's holiday
Percentage adjustment
Option 1: 5 weeks holidays 1%
Option 2: 6 weeks holiday 3%

After 5 year's service
Option 3: 5 weeks holidays 0.6%
Option 4: 6 weeks holidays 2.6%

Standard after 15 year's service - five week 1 days holiday
Option 5: 6 week's holiday 1.6%

When i hit first 15 and then 20 years service the deductions decreased and in the second case ceased exactly on time and as they should have.
Quite frankly i was astounded.

If you have hit the 15 year marker after the start of the financial year, so April 2023, then you will continue paying the current amount until the start of the next financial year, April 2024. You should then see your weekly amount reduce so you are then only purchasing an additional 4 days,( assuming you are purchasing up to the maximum additional leave).

Your "POAL" deductions will decrease in the week (or the week after) you reach 15 years service. Amazed they got this right

Correct, when I hit 20 years my deductions stopped.

Oh by the way have you checked (Lou84) that you're currently paying the correct deductions as per my above post.

I contacted HR via the stupid app as there was nonone to talk to on the phone and all sorted now.

Because I wanted to actually speak to someone, I had to wait several days for a reply.

Another cost cutting procedure by reducing manned phones.

So the issue is the Contact Centre not the App then? Or am I being stupid?
