Can anybody tell me if this would affect my stage 1 that I am currently on due to having 2 weeks of back in June?
I am going to need some time off for at least 2 weeks maybe longer and being payed is irrelevant in these circumstances for me.
Do you have to put this in writing or is a simple chat with the Manager enough to sort this out?
I did ask this in the Zerena Brown thead but that got a bit lost with all what goes on in there and I never got a response.
Any ideas please?
Thank you.

Fill in the Special Leave form, it has grades A, B or C depending if they pay you or not. They are not obligated to give you leave, though. Unless any of that has changed in the new agreement.

I wouldn't dare try to predict how difficult or easy your manager will try to make it for you. However...
Depending on your specific circumstances there may be a part of the equality exact that may be useful.
I'm a bit rusty but it is along the lines of "discrimination by association"
If you're a primary carer for this person, you can't be discriminated against because of your association with that person, and that person's needs (of you)
You are to effectively be treated as if, for the purpose of the time off required, you yourself have the disability.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
