Anyone been told about more walks being removed?

Post by smok3y666 »

Our rep been told this week 4 more walks got come out in the next wave of revisions in August because RM want the vans off the road. Just curious has anyone else heard anything about their own office?

Yes. losing all the oversized to our hub office down the road and around nine walks apparently.
Should be fun when the walks get another 300 calls added when we are already failing in summer.
Royal Mail's template for failure continues.

Our managers don't tell the reps anything, they just do what they want ......

The area reps should know if a revision is going in and you would think they would inform them.

We will be having a revision and of course longer walks as a few walks will be disappearing, when the oversized gets sent elsewhere. Not been told about vans going though.

Let managers worry about walks being removed and extended walks being created. You know your finish time, it is their job to lose sleep about staffing the office adequately.

Or let the rep worry about it, put a challenge in to mitigate the damage so the office can complete and morale doesn't hit rock bottom.

I wonder if the hubs will just send the oversize straight back to the DOs as they might not have enough staff to deliver their own stuff, let alone oversize from other DOs

No single person duties ,
All larger than shoebox size sent to the local hub
All rounds to have 200 extra calls
Even though our local hub cant cope at the moment with their own mail :arrrghhh
Doomed to failure
One office in our area had only 6 on delivery as loads have left in droves and not replaced

They could definitely happen. All our DPR routes have been lasped indefinitely as we don’t have the staff to do the DPR routes. They are also desperate for people to do collections on overtime so I imagine there will be less takers wanting to do packets in the afternoon during rush hour.

This is the best attitude. If they want to add more calls to the delivery that’s fine but more points means more prep as well as delivery work. We still have a start time and finish time if you can’t get don’t leave mail behind or cut off. No pride in the job anymore.

If this happens the dom is going to ask for parcel drivers. I’d do it but not if it means starting and finishing much later.I don’t think they’ll be any takers.
