been told today seasonal hours will start september but if its flexible give 2 hour take 2 hours in winter how can it start this year as it will mean for 17 weeks till xmas we will give em 34 hours free and not take any back in this year so weve doing 34 hours work without pay or flexing back surey needs to start from next april ???

There is only mention of the later starts and finishes being from March next year. Seasonal variation is not mentioned is it?

the variations are in the agreement. along with a formalisation of the 30 minutes flexibility clause. offices that can prove a managerial need can also alter the start and finish times. some offices will be working later and longer from September. if you aren't happy with it contact the CWU. they agreed to it.

You raise an interesting point. Because the end of the financial year, is the end of march. So effectively we are working this financial year, extra hours for nothing!

The agreement clearly states

1.2.4 The first deployment of seasonal variation will be in Autumn 2023 and will require the
additional time to be worked before the standard duty current start times. The impact
of this will be reviewed to assess if it creates issues such as instances of running out
of work between wave 1 and wave 2 arrivals impacting indoor productivity.

So why have the CWU caved in to another breach of contract in regard the agreement? Merely weeks after signing it is that the third time it has been ignored?

It says clearly there before your duty time.

Mad to think many years ago that later times would be implemented and in turn early allowance would be scrapped for most posties. Now they want us to start earlier once again. Of course it's not like the good old days when you would start at 5 and finish by midday.

Let's hope the people that voted Yes to this agreement don't moan about all the changes that are about to be rolled in.

Yeah my office is starting earlier come september, so we spend more time waiting around for the 2nd wave to arrive. WORK TO TIME.
