Good Friday Help
I work at wolverhampton and we the late guys have been told we can work good friday or have the day off it's our choice.
But the early drivers have been told they must work good friday, if they fail to turn up they will be treated as u/a and pay docked from them.
How can RM say some can have it off with pay and others will not be payed if they don't turn up !!!!
I need advice for my friends on this.
Cheers any help grateful

As far as our place goes you put your name down if you want to work.
As its a bank holiday you are not obliged to work, our night shift finish at midnight and return Fri/Sat midnight, only a hand full of dutys have to work as they will be out on runs and dont return till after midnight, the other 2 shifts are O/T.

Re: Good Friday Help
I suspect this will be a judgement similar to the way we planned industrial action - by early drivers, do you mean shifts starting before midnight on Thursday - if so they complete their shift that will actually go into Good Friday but do not go in on the one that would start before Friday midnight. If their whole shift is within the 24 hours of good friday I cannot see any reason to dock them pay if they don't go in as it is a public holiday.nobodies hero wrote:I work at wolverhampton and we the late guys have been told we can work good friday or have the day off it's our choice.

Good Friday working
DOM has posted a notice that overtime may be available for Good Friday and has asked for volunteers to put their names up. Usual format has been that we have a 6 hour duty with approximately one third of the staff from the office in - if it's over subscribed names come out of the hat and we then split the duty between IPS and prepping three walks each ready for saturday which is usually a killer. It's always an early start with no deliveries so we can be home in time to do something with the rest of the day (for example - worry about what a s**t day Saturday will be).

Was not in then but apparently they used the post boxes on the walk as it was always light compared to now and the walk was very different apparently.dvbuk55 wrote:They aren't going to do it of course but as a matter of interest what did you do for bag drops when we did deliver Good Friday?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:rhino49 wrote:What a f***ing excellent idea dvbuk55wrote:TBH I don't think we even do a collection on Good Friday- why don't we work GF and have Sat off so that we get a 3 day weekend?![]()
