These new walk sorting machines

Post by LUV THE SMELL OF LETTERS »

Has anyone seen them in action. We saw a video of some dutch girl using one. But are they really that good?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

those machines work well with uniform size envelopes like in Japan , I don't think Business Post /TNT want these funny envelopes , RM has to deal with them and quell surprise they can't put everything through mech .

They are a nightmare at our office. As usual the business buys something that doesn't do what it says on the tin.
The LSMs at our office had an extra two sections put on the machines - all five of them - which have now been removed, too.

The new LSM's also eat perstorpps. Our office is always running out. One medium sized postcode area, BS16, takes 300 a night.

Perstops are the blue plastic boxes (pods) used to put flats/letters in.
Zaphods saying the LSMs use up a lot of them every night, which are then sent out to the DOs
or other MCs and are obviously not being returned or replaced fast enough.

Our MC also produces a lot of broken ones that get recycled into new perstorpps/trays/boxes.
Does the machinery wreck them in some way? I think they may well do.
