a motion for conference, from ,N,I...

Motion to Annual Conference

This Conference condemns in the strongest possible terms the decision taken by the NEC at the behest of the General Secretary, to suspend the N.I. No1 Branch Officers and Official as being both undemocratic and not in the best interests of the members of the Branch.
Further it is believed that the decision to suspend the Branch may have been taken on the basis of erroneous information provided by the General Secretary. The suspended Officers and Officials of the N.I.No1 Branch were not furnished with explanations for their suspension nor were they provided with an opportunity to appeal their suspension.
The continued suspension has therefore cast a cloud of suspicion over the integrity and suitableness of those suspended Branch Officers and Officials to hold office in the future. There are also deep concerns over equality of treatment as it is fact that at least one Branch Officer was not indeed bound by the suspension and was allowed to exercise unfettered control over Branch matters including finances whilst refusing to co-operate with other suspended colleagues.
This Conference also deplores the failure of the General Secretary to enact investigations/inquiries into paramilitary threats against a former Branch Official as well as scurrilous rumours and literature which were spread concerning another Former Branch Secretary. This is in spite of commitments and assurances given by the General Secretary to both members and the wider membership of the N.I. No1 Branch.

This Conference Instructs the Union’s President to initiate an inquiry independent of the General Secretary to look into all aspects of the Branch’s suspension and possible infringements of the union’s rules with a view to bringing any guilty parties before the Union’s National Discipline Committee.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Maybe I'm just an old cynic but there does seem to be an inordinate amount of delay between the report and any return to normalcy in July-and it would seem to be, at least from the tone of the letter, that there is a certain amount of pre judgement.

It is clear that the only way in which this can all be resolved is by making a few waves, maybe if we could generate a Sunami then we might possilby get somewhere sometime soon.

But as Billy himself stated in latest letter “Any re-inauguration of the Branch that does not address the root problems will be a failure.â€

Latest update is that the HQ appointed Branch Administrator has suspended IR Elections, hardly a step forward for the Branch and members yet more union rules are broken in the seemingly endless pursuit of destroying a Branch.

how the fcuk can he do that he has run some IR elections ARE THEY NOW NOT VALID,

It's very concerning that as late as today there are no motions displayed in any of the units within the Branch, they should have been displayed for 4 days prior to the General Meeting how can members amend any motions if they so desire? The venue has been advertised as Centre for the Unemployed Donegall Street at 2.00pm. When contacted the Unemployed Centre stated that no such booking had been made.

Where is our General Meeting to be held then Branch Administrator? or are you too busy suspending IR Elections and preventing Democratic Election from taking place?

What gives with this Liverpool inspired dictate?
