RMCtv : Working arrangements for King Charles' Coronation on Saturday 6 May : Saturday 6 May will remain a normal working day.

Post by POSTMAN »

Working arrangements for King Charles’ Coronation on Saturday 6 May.

This will be a working day for many of our customers and they will be expecting us to be working as well. We have been notified that Post Office Limited plan to open as normal on Saturday 6 May. Considering our ongoing commitment to our customers, Saturday 6 May will remain a normal working day.

In terms of staffing arrangements, we believe that these will be no different to our agreed approach to previous bank holidays. Detailed planning is currently taking place across the operation for the weekend.

The additional bank holiday on Monday 8 May will give everyone the chance to celebrate this memorable occasion. However, it is important that we balance the needs of the business whilst allowing employees the opportunity to enjoy this moment in history.

Managers are being asked to consider if they can show the televised Coronation on site without impacting the operation and to give flexibility for team members requesting holiday or changing shifts for Saturday 6 May.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

“ Considering our ongoing commitment to our customers, Saturday 6 May will remain a normal working day.”

Can we celebrate Xmas day on the 27th of December muppets, if we’re working the Saturday may as well work the Monday. “Can I have Monday off for a childbirth”. “no but you can take the Wednesday and celebrate”

Haven't yet heard of a single company that operates on a Saturday actually closing. So knew royal mail wouldn't be any different

Can feel a lot of sickies coming on that week!

:wave :wave :wave

Seriously though a lot of people may not care for Royalty and will therefore not want to see it.

Surely a half decent company would organise for those who wish to see to it "swap" the Bank holiday day, that way both days get some coverage.

Win win for everyone.
