What is the reasoning behind a face to face

Post by realitybites »

I was just wondering what can be gleaned from a face to face that can't be shared by phone or zoom /microsoft teams meeting. Not being naive but would like to hear others views on it.
Can you be forced into a face to face if you are not mobile enough to get to the office unless you use a taxi.

It's not what can be gleaned, more like it enables the following in a more hostile environment:

interviewer bias, pressurising, intimidation, attempted amateur psychology, attempted amateur medical diagnosis etc.

You're not going to get a coffee and doughnuts in the DOM's office to make you feel better.....

It would be nice to think that a face to face the best way for you and your manager to discuss your health issues, theres a disconnect over the phone. In RMs world though, Yellowbelly is probably right

A lot of it is to say if you can get in you can manage to sort etc. It's bullying

This is the impression I get. Is it also the case you have to have a face to face on a weekly basis?

Do this. Because their rationale is, if you can make it into the office, then you can make it into work.

So make them come to you.

That’s what I did , if your not fit enough to go to work then you are not fit enough to travel for a face to face meeting.
