The "clampdown" on sickness means that several people have come in to work with covid and strep throat recently, to avoid a stage meeting/ because they've never had a permanent contract.
Now the people who have worked near or with them have dropped like flies and the walks are failing even more, managers are begging people to "triple prep" on walks already jam packed with 4-5 days of mail, and nobody is allowed to take any out on overtime.
What a well run company!

These new contracts are working well then. Showing a test positive for covid doesn't matter. Being ill doesn't matter, they don't care.

The company is being torn up deliberately and everyone is feeling the wrath of Thompson. Not sure what the parliament can do to stop these crazy actions like failing the USO not paying people sick pay when they are genuinely sick.

Personally I don’t think covid should matter. If you are well enough you should come in.
If you are too unwell to come in, for whatever reason, then you should stay in bed.

Personally I don't get that sick from COVID, but who's to say the people around me won't get really sick? Isn't it better to encourage people not to spread illness around so the workplace as a whole doesn't get suddenly hit by multiple people off at once?
I've had strep twice in my life, and both times ended up on a drip in hospital... Don't really want to go through it again (doctors advice? "Stay away from people with strep, you are really susceptible to it" not helpful advice when people are encouraged by the company to come in and "keep it quiet" when they're ill)

And I get that but with covid, most people don’t test now, and people may be coming to work with what they think is a cold (or even have no symptoms). Unless you social distance all the time and don’t van share or go to any crowded place you’re as likely to catch it as not.
