An update for Royal Mail Group members - Twitter 18:57 23/03/2023

Post by POSTPERSON50 »

The update is there is no update.
Negotiations with Royal Mail Group continue. We are putting together plans to update our senior officials, branches and members tomorrow.
What is happening in the workplace is completely unacceptable and we are in a very serious situation. Once we advertise the sessions we will need you all online.

In answer to all the "why aren't they updating us?!" messages... Because there's nothing new to say

In short, they haven't got anywhere and are still under the thumb of the company. Ward and co OUT!

CWU finally put an update out and not one of the replies on Twitter are supporting them. How can they not see that they have lost massive support or they now realise that then end is nigh and going to go out with a final bang. Call a strike and watch loads of postman cross the picket line because they have been let down.

That implies others would do a better job.
You think the CWU could change its entire team & things would change.
Personally I think RM will continue with this self destructive ideology no matter who is negotiating.
My view is it’s RM board & the top dogs that need replacing!!

in all the years I’ve been with the company talks have always been held with a ban on any media info until the talks have finished. It’s pretty obvious these talks are going to be drawn out given what rm are pushing in and other demands they are making.

There’s over 300 comments so far on the Facebook update. I can’t find one in support of the unions antics over the last few months. They have completely lost the membership, I would say it’s time for Ward and co to step aside but at this late stage what would be the point. Any clout the CWU used to have on Royal Mail is now effectively in the bin and it’s not coming back. I look forward to tomorrows shite update.

How do unworkable revisions save the company any money anyhow?

Right now, I can sit here in my flat, order something off the web right after midnight.... And Royal Mail will deliver it three or four days later. Maybe.

Or order off Amazon and get it delivered next day, or ARGOS same day, etc, etc

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

People moaning there’s no update, then the CWU update to say there will be an announcement tomorrow, after the senior officials are briefed.Let’s just wait and see what tomorrow brings, before everyone melts down
