Longest talks in history

Post by rmchat112 »

These set of talks are much like Brexit!!!

Prolonged without purpose and a plan and looking much like self destruction.

Put us all out of our misery and just get it done!

Never mind the pay rise for 2022 it's April 2023 next week,

You may as well start pay talks for 2030 today so we have a chance of getting it in April 2030!

We all have bills to.pay!

Both cwu and royal mail get your act together!

The silence from both sides is deafening!

Rant over! :thumbdown

They've been going on so long they actually went back to the dawn of time in an attempt to make the last deadline. If you want an update of the talks you can now find the minutes at the start of Genesis.

Deal of the Millennium incoming!
The machine stops.

The talks seem far apart still at the moment, both sides are not giving in , serious questions still to be answered ,seems all working sectors are now coming to agreements, and getting offered deals, all ,except us! But on the other hand all our management sides , and those higher up , have all been settled, just us! WHY!

Probably because the Union want something unrealistic. That and the USO. USO goes, get rid of the staff that want to go. Job done.

What can they keep talking about.I thought most of our was done and dusted weeks ago. If it’s about the suspended workers then that’s not what we were balloted for. Not the revisions either.

Agreed! Have you always held such a view?

What more can they be talking about except for self preservation?

The basic trend of this entire dispute is whenever a deadline is set (be it a specific date or saying talks will continue next week) and it goes past it, normally means little to no progress has been made. Said in previous threads it serves neither side to hold off till a deadline did if they already come to an agreement. What I'm finding irritating is for company that is losing s**t load of money "daily" (both union and RM have said this), none are really in any rush in actually settled this dispute. There's patience, then there is taking the absolute piss. At this point, think majority of the meeting is just staring contests.

Both sides? With no IA this year despite a massive vote I would suggest the union have given in currently.

I don't remember 'TOTAL AND UTTERLY RIDICULOUS REVISIONS WHICH WILL MAKE ROUNDS IMPOSSIBLE TO DELIVER' being in the 'Changes We Need' document.

We should have a 20% pay rise for this nonsense being added in.

Some businesses are rated on the performance of Royal Mail.... and Royal Mail management don't give a sausage!

I assume the "massive yes vote" is there just as a threat. The CWU keep talking about their suspended members and reps every time they prolong this, as if that's what we were all voting for, rather than unrealistic workloads and the complete lack of remuneration for said work. A pay increase isn't a pay increase if it's dependent on you doing more work to attain it

Well said, I never seen this mentioned either, funny that

We did ZERO mail today (again) on our walks, did our quadruple lapsing and tracked and it was time up.

Same again tomorrow :thumbup
