Hearing conflicting things about break times for P/T

At our DO all full timers (and part timers starting at 7am) get 20+20 minute breaks, part timers (usually starting between 8am-9am and working 5+ hours) get a 20 minute break.

It's been that way at our DO for at least several years, but that table shows P/T should get a 30 minute break.

I mentioned it to a union rep, and he said something like "breaks are worked out in a complex way, depending on how many hours you do on the day before and after, so we just say it's a 20 minute break because it's easier".

I'm not sure if he was correct, or just repeating something he'd heard.

I've tried google, it looks like the break times were agreed in the Way Forward Agreement 20+ years ago, and I can't see anything saying they've changed.

If attendance is over 5 hours (or you go over 5 hours) it is 30 minutes.

If it is over 7 hours it becomes 40 minutes.

I started on a 4h 48m contract but always in early or went over so always took/booked 30 minutes.

New starters were often told by our old manager it was only 20 minutes either through ignorance or outright dishonesty.....

Absolutely, it's not complex and it's not based on how many hours you do on any day other than the day it applies to so as far as anyone's concerned it's as per the above table.

The length of each days attendance determines the meal relief times for each day so simply in your scenario it should 30 minutes and all this blah blah about the previous day and day after is crap.
The daily length of attendance applies to each day separately and this also applies to ft on long and shorts .

Hello everyone, if you work a 8 hour day on overtime, do you get the full 8 hours or do you get your meal relief taken off so you only get 7 hours 20 mins pay ??

If it is overtime you get paid for your 40 minute meal relief. 7h 20 work =8h pay.
If it is Scheduled Attendance you don't get paid the meal relief ....unless it is Sunday.
