Personally I don't see why those who decided to stand up and fight be worse off than those that couldn't or wouldn't strike?

Deductions
Just a thought but couldn't reimbursement for pay and holidays deducted due to strike action be one of the criteria negotiated for settling the strikes?

Re: Deductions
I know it's not over yet. That's the point. They could put it in the list of things to negotiate? By the end of the strikes some people will be thousands out of pocket and yet every employee will benefit from a negotiated settlement. Seems only fair that we all end up in the same place financially? Or do you think some people should be worse off for making a stand?enskied wrote: ↑25 Jan 2023, 20:14All for one and one for all.Judgee wrote: ↑25 Jan 2023, 20:10Just a thought but couldn't reimbursement for pay and holidays deducted due to strike action be one of the criteria negotiated for settling the strikes?

Re: Deductions
No chance of getting reimbursed the pay that’s been deducted for strike action. They will say it’s unaffordable and, from their point of view, send out the wrong signal in deterring any future strike action if people think there will be no financial loss as a consequence.
I did wonder if they would waive the deduction of A/L as a good will gesture if they were able to reach a deal that the union were happy to put to the membership after the last 2 weeks of talks but now it’s been deducted I don’t think there is any chance of getting that back either.

Re: Deductions
I think if they agree to not deduct holiday pay and such then they should award strike breakers an extra few days.
Otherwise, like someone else said above, it sends the wrong message.

Re: Deductions
Do you mean deduct hours from leave entitlement? Having been on strike a few times over the years I don't recall leave being reduced because of it. Is it legal or is it RM making stuff up as they go along?FilthyBloke wrote: ↑25 Jan 2023, 21:03I think if they agree to not deduct holiday pay and such then they should award strike breakers an extra few days.

Re: Deductions
I think you are all deluded. There will be no agreement, no back pay, just executive action going forward. They won't pay us off with EVR's .They won't even pay us off with CRs. That EVR preference exercise on the app was just designed to get numbers who want to leave. They are now focusing on pissing us off each day and harassing us so that we leave with nothing after 10+, 20+ years of service.
But, just remember one thing. If there are no jobs for postmen and women left, there will be less jobs for managers.
