hi 2 all,id be extremely greatful if any of you postis,could answer this question ? ive passed my assessment and ive been put on a waiting list,ive been waiting for 6 weeks now,is this about right ?

Welcome mate,it varies i suppose,took me bout 2 months after i was passed ok.
It seems that they recruit then keep you hanging on till vacancies come up.
Hold tight.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I was on waiting list for 10 months - but that was 28 years ago.
Will also depend on where you are and what the staff turnover is like there.

Imageskullin. Yeah I had to wait about 8 weeks even after I had some Christmas casual work for RM. Also with the background checks they have to do now this will slow it down a bit as well. As they say stick it out, also according to Royal Mail our pension scheme closed on 31 Jan 08 and we will now be in a care scheme. If you are planning to stay till you retire might be worth checking out the benefits and pitfalls of our new Career Average Scheme and any private pension you might have.
