Simon SaysText taken from video and tidied up a bit.
I just want to give you a quick update on the talks. so I actually had a text exchange with Dave Ward last night and also this morning and we will be catching up again I think this afternoon, maybe early afternoon, but will let you know.
But I want to give you a quick update on where I think we are. So as I said, we will meet this afternoon.
The teams have been meeting all day yesterday, but there's been really limited discussion on the change and pay elements really until yesterday and I think that you know we've been talking for way over a week now and I think that all got really bogged down in the revisions activity and you know we've been really, really clear on the revisions piece.
They have to go ahead and the timeline is the timeline and we have to make sure that we are matching you know labor and workload cause we need to for the business.
You know we're losing a million pounds a day and we've got to make sure that we are the right size now.
I'm hoping and I believe this morning there will be another proposal from the CWU is how they can engage in that process in a in a proactive and positive way which we'd like, but you know these revisions really need to go ahead.
The other thing as well is there is still no real clarity on what the CWU agrees with.
So what I asked yesterday is can we please have a list of the things you agree with? I understand there might be some gaps here and there and there's more discussion that has to come I totally understand that, but I think what we need is we need a foundation of things that we agree with.
And the other thing as well it was a little bit clear to me yesterday this is a very personal perspective and it may well be that other people have a different view, is I think there are a lot of different views, you know on CWU within the people, the people that I meet and, you know, it's really important that we need a united CWU so we can move forward.
So anyway, on a positive note, we're back in talking this afternoon, let's see where we get to.

RMCtv : Simon Thompson update : Revisions need to go ahead quickly : The CWU do not seem to be together
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So more to the point what are the union doing about it at local level. Mail Centres are ploughing ahead with local revisions and our union are waiting for go ahead to talk about these revisions from head office. Worrying times I feel the union are more focused on the YES vote than what's going on locally

“What’s she been ordering now?”

They’ve force everything else through they’ll plough these revisions through and the union will say we got a deal
All this is one way traffic now
And what’s stopping it happening …. Nothing

Royal Mail is ploughing on with these changes, be it the CWU agree or not.notts1862 wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 14:42So more to the point what are the union doing about it at local level. Once these changes are in place, there will be no going back.
But let us talk some more is the response. That is not what people need to hear.
Feel the only option left now is an all-out strike instead of pussyfooting about with Juvenile pieces of paper and harsh language. Blink and it is all over, especially with introducing these new contracts of employment with zero consultation.

I think he will ram these hideous, unworkable, unagreed doomed to failure revisions through and then disappear leaving the sinking ship behind with his pockets stuffed with piles of money, probably dressed as a woman climbing into a lifeboat, like the bloke on the titanic

Not to sound like a pedant, but why is the American spelling used for the word 'labour'?

Just keep forwarding his comments/threats onto the legend that is Darren Jones MP. I gather he wants to keep informed of what goes on after his grilling at the Select committee on Tuesday.
