Nearly 13 years and iam out

Post by bigal383 »

All the best guy and girls I’ve handed my notice in after over 12 years due to leave in the next few weeks .
Joined Royal Mail in my early 20s it’s all I’ve ever known really

Reasons for leaving
I can see it seriously becoming worse management are absolute s**t they have no answers and read from a laptop the same scripts have nothing at all upstairs

I now suffer from chronic anxiety what’s formed over the years with all the changes and uncertainty each year thinking will I still be able to look after my young family .

I wish you all the best people never thought I’d be leaving but I can’t put up with the uncertainly more and more each year it’s time to get a career path and work for a company who maybe gives a s**t about its staff

All the best in the new ballot can’t see it ending very well us striking in March and I think these talks are just stalling tactics to get January feb out the way hope iam wrong

All the best x

Good luck to you. I'm thinking the same, was good but if I can't do the school run there is no point for me.

I think a lot of us are just one bad day away now. The perks of the job are few, and the physical and mental stress exceeds any compensation in terms of wages. Most of the over 50s at our place are in bad shape after doing the job for over two decades.

Good luck for the future. Put my notice in last week too and for all the same reasons. There's a world of opportunities out there. Weekends and evenings to enjoy.

Good luck whatever you end up doing.

I left after 32 years start of this year and went into the ag industry .

Hours are longer but every other sat off and the ones i work are only until 12.

And holidays , absolutely no drama booking holiday even during harvest season , if you only want the sat off just book the day off not a entire week.

Many at our office are wanting to leave aswell . I was hoping to get some sort of redundancy payment before I leave at the start of next year :pray Looks unlikely though but I've asked my manager to put me on his list lol

I'm looking for a way out as well. I was ready to quit last year and was talked round. Now I'm just hanging on for the prospect of redundancy, but I won't be hanging around for all the c**p I think will be coming our way. I've had a lot of jobs, and they all turned bad sooner or later. I usually know when it's time to go.

Good luck and well done on your escape. I too have been here 13 years and desperately hope this is the year I make my escape. Fed up to the back teeth of this f****d up dumpster fire of a job.

Congratulations on the escape.

I'm almost at 5 years and I'm mentally done with it all, just waiting for the right opportunity to come along and I'll be out too :wave :wave

This job creates a lot of stress and anxiety you’ve done the right thing.
Your over stimulated nervous system will now begin to settle down.
Tranquility and Happiness is approaching.
