picket line this morning
don't know if it was a disgruntled customer not received their parcel, or a poisonous venom spewing gaffer but someone called the fire brigade out to us this morning for having a fire going!. it was in a metal bin type garden incinerator so it was completely safe, the fire brigade bloke just laughed really, and said its probably just someone pissed off with the strikes and said good luck lads. some people eh?

probably cos he's of the opinion its a member of the public who phoned them, and if we strike on 23rd and 24th we will lose more public backing. i dont think we will lose public support tho.

Backlog won’t get cleared till February now
And most of the public don’t know when we’re on strike - Meg/harry or NHS getting all press attention

Isn't it an offence to waste the emergency service's time ?daveyeff wrote: ↑15 Dec 2022, 11:09don't know if it was a disgruntled customer not received their parcel, or a poisonous venom spewing gaffer but someone called the fire brigade out to us this morning for having a fire going!. it was in a metal bin type garden incinerator so it was completely safe, the fire brigade bloke just laughed really, and said its probably just someone pissed off with the strikes and said good luck lads. some people eh?

We had the pleasure of a disgruntled district nurse vented her frustrations at us this morning. Because she couldn’t collect her packet. Said they would never strike because it’s a matter of life and death and was disgusted we were still striking.

Re: picket line this morning
The screws in our neck of the woods have been doing this trying to get the fire brigade to come and put it out and then trying to inform the council that these firepits are on public highways and are without permission, trying to get the union fined upto £5,000. More scummy tactics was a rep at Manchester Mail Centre was suspended for burning damaged pallets that they said belonged to RM.daveyeff wrote: ↑15 Dec 2022, 11:09don't know if it was a disgruntled customer not received their parcel, or a poisonous venom spewing gaffer but someone called the fire brigade out to us this morning for having a fire going!. it was in a metal bin type garden incinerator so it was completely safe, the fire brigade bloke just laughed really, and said its probably just someone pissed off with the strikes and said good luck lads. some people eh?

This happened north of the border. The nurses aren’t striking here as the Scottish Government gave them a pay offer which was accepted.
