It's time the CWU went on youtube/facebook live and did a Q&A so we can get a bit more info than the same things we hear every time.

That's cos the only thing we can do is keep striking. It's frustrating, but there's nothing else. I suppose there's work to rule, and o/t ban, but I think they'd be very hard to enforce. I suppose I'm just grateful the bloke is keeping himself, and the CWU out there. He's doing media runs, speeches, I think I seen a video on the picket line yesterday. If it was silence there'd be hell on. I get the frustration, but that's how this works. I remember my first strike in the 90s over team working. There was no Facebook, no YouTube, u literally just had a rep relaying u information as he got it. We were in the dark 95% of the time as to what was going on.

if an overtime ban was brought in, why would it be difficult to enforce? surely anyone breaking the ban would be classed as a scab? it would be the same as crossing a picket line would it not? all of us who are striking are sticking to our guns so i can't see anyone not sticking to an o/t ban. as for work to rule, same would apply surely.

There’s no way a o/t ban would work, ppl are getting thru these strikes by making money up from it, obviously it can be seen as counterproductive to strike then go in on overtime but that’s what’s happening

It would affect different parts of the business differently.
From what I read on here it would greatly affect deliveries and I suspect distribution but indoor processing not very much.
Our skills are easily and quickly learnt and where my mail centre is there are vast numbers of agency staff available.
In terms of cost to the business I don't really know.

i can see them trying it, but the jobs ran on overtime for the last 30 yrs i've been there. we'll see.

I think some of you have misunderstood me. I don't oppose these forms of industrial action, I just think people would be more willing to ignore them, as opposed to actually walking past your colleagues on a picket line. It's an easier line to cross. I'm not saying everyone would, I'm not criticising people who do overtime, on any other day. Even now, tho, in the midst of all this animosity from our employer, I'm watching people pulling two yorkies, over loading things, etc... I am criticising those people, they're idiots even during normal times. I just don't think it would get the necessary following it would need to be effective.
