Overtime and the "agreement"?

Post by RobRoyThePostie »

Was working yesterday after swapping a day with one of my colleagues who was going on holiday. The two other guys at the SPDO told me that our Cluster Manager was now telling us that IF we claimed O/T then it had to be done on the basis of working 40 hours over the week, not on a daily basis (going over the 8 hours). When he first took over (3 years ago) he said that this is how we would work and I took it up with the CWU rep, who said he couldn't enforce that. My colleagues said that wasn't happening and if they claimed O/T it would be day to day. Is this enshrined in the agreement, I don't think it is.

depends how you view it, you could say by thursday you have done a walk and then overtime after so you had completed your 40hrs. So fri and sat hrs become your overtime which by a coincidence would equal the same hrs under the old system, this new system i suspect would only affect you if you went sick fri & sat in which case you would not profit but break even. This phase 3 buisness needs to be nailed down as RM management seem to benefit from confusion and rumour as nobody seems to know what is being voted for, not raising your hand as a NO vote locally goes down as a YES and it goes through due to apathy.

Tell the gaffa to do the work himself for no cost and watch him beg you to take it out and if he dont pay dont work another day for the creep!.

Does that mean that if you have worked 40 hours by the end of thursday you can go off sick friday, saturday and not end up getting a stage 1 since you have worked the weekly 40 hours :Very Happy
