Come January/February if no deal has been reached it's likely many will lose faith in striking. At that point is the union done for?
I'm sure they will still have their role in helping us in our everyday office disputes but what happens if many people stop striking in January. Will it lead to them falling apart?

For the dispute to be over, more than 50% will have to vote in favour of accepting the surrender deal. I can't see that happening, but if it does then there will be no union - even to help with what you describe as everyday office disputes.

People need to realise that if they accept the surrender deal then they are also accepting every single change that currently only exist in Thompson's wet dreams. He will be free to drop our wages to minimum wage and change our terms and conditions as and when he sees fit. We will be unable to ever oppose him again as he will know that RM is staffed mainly by surrender monkeys who will drop any industrial action if he doesn't immediately give in.

The union won't fall apart but we'll be wide open to bullying and intimidation on a daily basis with the threat of more compulsory redundancies to come . We can never allow that to happen .

I wouldn’t say it would over for them but they will probably have less influence than they do now.

I don't know what their costs are, but remember they represent more than just RM staff. I'd think they could take the hit .... bit like us!

recruitment for members is always there as long as the union wins this dispute. if they don't, nobody will want to join, as there will be no union. it will be game over.

10 000 members is about £2 million/year.
What business can sustain that drop in revenue?

They're not selling the premises in Wimbledon to set up a strike fund.
