Why do we lose so much when on strike
Looking at my pay slip I lost £219 for two days of action. I’m sure there will be some kind of explanation as to why it’s so high ie bonus pay etc, but still I would be ok £109 day.

It's 2/5 of your normal flat rate weekly pay including supplements. £545/wk before tax and ni.

Don't forget to factor in the AL you'll lose too. Around an hr per day, so another £13 equivalent.

Off topic, I didn't realise the strike dates next week was the 14th and 15th. Well I did the 14th but are we out on the 15th as well?

I know it's right ,but why do we not get paid that amount when we work your days off that amount (not strike) normal weeks? Plus why is it after ten hours overtime you get paid less per hour than normal.

When you work overtime, you don’t get allowances or supplements. The over ten hours rate is beyond my comprehension, it must have been agreed with the union at some point in the past, probably to make overtime less appealing

Re: Why do we lose so much when on strike
It's all to do with the Way Forward agreement.
At the time the Union was trying, and succeeding in giving everyone a decent wage without reliance on overtime.
The idea was to make overtime less attractive by bringing in a two-tier system of payments.
At the time the workforce was predominantly full time.
Over the years the overtime rate never kept up with the hourly rate.
Unfortunately since then the business has brought in Part Time duties which means you don't get overtime rates until you reach 37 hours and then it all goes wrong with increasing lower rates.

You actually get paid less per hour for overtime.
Look at it. I think you get paid about 45p less for an hour's overtime.

But it's never been a D2D payment, even if it was there's no reason not to deliver them on non strike days, carry on as you are doing and you could have up to 6 months worth of D2D's to deliver!worktotime wrote: ↑10 Dec 2022, 21:55they dont just take a days they also take money off your delivery supplement , thats why i dont delivery d2ds in the week we have strikes and just roll them over until i have time to do them .
