Post by diciancia11 »

Hi I’ve to have day off to look after my daughter as not well
My manager has put it down a days annual leave ?
Is this the norm, I don’t mind but was thinking what’s the toss up in btweening the special leave and days annual leave

Thanks :wave

Taking a days annual leave is the norm now with child care issues, though under the circumstances a days authorised leave without pay would be more appropriate.

Not opinion, Fact

The employer has no responsibility with child care issues unless an immediate direct emergency,
The same if your car breaks down and you cannot get into work as transport is not their problem either.

Special leave CAN be paid. But shouldn't be just for child care. If you have kids, deal with the consequences.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

In your opinion. What you think is appropriate may not seem appropriate to others.

I'm sorry, of course you should get special treatment because you have kids, how silly of me.

Busted , of course I'm a manager. Grow up would you, this is worse than being in North Korea, this chat, can't have an opinion about anything without being called a manager.

And calling people a manager is a breach of the site rules.
Nobody really seems to care anymore though.

Rules are for other people aren't they?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
