We used to be a letters business

Post by pieoftheday »

So with Simon Thompson openly admitting on sky TV that we used to be a letters business, what does that mean for the delivery of letters? A return to government control for letters? Maybe the complete end of letters?

It means nothing he can't do anything about it they have to be delivered 6 days a week by law(in theory).you can call it anyway u like we deliver letters and parcels.the only way around that is to split it.

The 2 most important soundbites from todays interviews.

ST: "We used to be a letter business".

DW: "We are about to be taken over".

Thompson needs to realise that most of his staff spend the majority of their time sorting letters into their frames and then walking the streets delivering those letters.

We are not primarily a parcel company no matter how often he claims that we are.

I think letters are more important than parcels
Disgrace some people are getting their mail every 2 or 3 days or a couple of times a week
Most of the public and press and MPs don’t know

Correct we are still a letters business
That delivers parcels
And if they break parcels away if will only be above shoe box size
They still need us to deliver small pkts
And even then they would need t compete with all the other couriers
They would need to lower prices
Profits down
The board and man are deluded

I thought we were in the business of mail and that each item was important. We’re not Royal Letters or Royal Parcels. WE ARE ROYAL MAIL!

And their parcel strategies gls abroad will be hit by labour legislation from relevant countries shortly
They are the equivalent of Evri over there and are subject to investigations currently

My frame Monday and Tuesday says otherwise.
