He was on BBC Breakfast this morning

Post by yellowbelly »

He was on BBC Breakfast this morning at about 0720 available on iplayer (try not to throw anything at your TV),
waffled and deflected the question about whether he turned up for negotiations.

If journalists would do a bit more research he could have been pinned down about the so called 9% pay rise and
really been made to squirm!

I can't listen to that guy. He's pure cringe. A troll.

Get him on TV in a live debate with Dave Ward.

It annoys me so much every time I watch an interview when the 9% is mentioned. Even when it's Dave Ward being interviewed. The breakdown of what the 9% actually means never comes up. It's just 9%, 9%, 9%. It's not bloody 9% so please let it be known!!! Also Thompson looks as though he's really under pressure in that BBC interview. He just looks as though he's starting to feel the heat. At least I hope so!!!!!

I watched the Sky interview which you can find on youtube.... he basically rejects going on there to debate with Dave Ward. He knows he will get found out.

He also said "the core of the issue here is we used to be a letters business, we are now a parcels business".

What does that even mean? In my eyes we are both a letters and parcels business. I spend 80-90% of my day delivering letters. 10-20% delivering parcels.

We deliver a ridiculous amount of letters. Even though people thought this digital age would bring letters down. I think the houses on my round on average get post 4 to 6 days a week. And when I say 'letters' I mean anything that is letter sized that you wouldn't call a parcel; a magazine, an addressed leaflet, a brochure, a sim card, some photos, large letters (as Royal Mail calls them), banks statements, bills, tickets, documents, etc...

Going back to Thompson's comment....

Is he trying to imply he wants to get rid of letters completely!?!?!?!

How in the name of f**k is it possible if a business was losing so much money a day for the guy running that business to stay in the job? Even the shareholders that he's feeding our hard earned money to have to grasp that regardless of how wealthy they're becoming off our backs. The greedy bastards!!!!

Over the years the walks have got bigger and bigger to counteract the supposed decline of letters, meaning more d2ds to prep and deliver.
So youre still taking about the same length of time to complete your walk. The way they talk you'd think everybody finishes early everyday.

If this is how he looks before the December strikes we might have to throw in a couple more dates!
