Preference exercise

Post by lobsterhands »

Just asked manager about the preference exercise and what’s happening, he reckons they’ll start next few days .. 1to 1’s with the people who applied, Non-drivers will be a major factor in the decision in his eyes who goes and who doesn’t and the fact the final decision will be up to him. He also added compulsory redundancies will definitely follow.

Just after wait and see, rumours are everywhere.

Manager said the VR will be on seniority and we’re set to lose 5 staff so basically equivalent of all the reserves. Not sure how this is gonna work unless we are just rotating what goes out each day. What a mess.

We were told seniority across the whole country, not just our depot.

Think we have 18 duties plus about 5 large parcel driver duties right now.

I'm guessing it'll be cheapest and troublemakers first (i.e. often off sick, don't do overtime etc)

Also, anyone who registered for voluntary redundancy will probably be first out when it comes to compulsory
