Re: Brian Cox
Watched it., very interesting program as I've been to America several times over the years and I can see the divide, its a capitalist hegemony with unions being supressed as much as possible with easy hire and fire, low wages and 2 weeks holidays if you're lucky, at the wages most get you're literally a single paycheck from poverty and medical bills will cripple you, you would be better off dead if you don't want burden your family with unpayable medical debts.
It's not what it's cracked up to be, nothing like Dallas or other feel good Hollywood fest, most Americans have been brainwashed into the " American dream" and the rich is getting richer.
One guy tried to set up a union in an Amazon warehouse and the corporation fought it including spending $4.6m on lawyer fees etc which he observed even $1m of that would have elevated everyone's daily rate by $10.
I predict in a few years time with increasing homeless problems and disenfranchisement from society, there will be big major nationwide riots, social order breakdown and the super rich will be the targets, no rich gated community will be able to stop any determined mobs breaking in, the LA riots would be a tea party by comparison.
Canada is miles ahead of America in social equity, free healthcare and employment rights.
