Backdated payrise Dave Ward!

Post by FirstPost »

I'm confused with the current situation on what the newest offer is, so are the union hoping of getting a backdated payrise whatever it may be?

If it's not backdated, it's a no from me

The thing is royal mail haven't even waved the golden carrot this time either. The deal is so poor and you can't even say well the payrise is good, because it simply isn't. It's a real terms pay cut for the destruction of our hard fought terms and conditions.

Will agree these imposed changes in reality are a pay cut

If the usual April implement of pay rises apply, and the deal is for 18 months; then by implication some of the pay deal is backdated?

The pay review has been moved forward to October 2023 - what does that mean genuinely?

Oct 2022 to Mar 2023 - 6 months
April 2023 to Mar 2023 - 12 months

Our pension money should be backdated.

But I'm more concerned about our Terms & Conditions being eroded. I want to go into a workplace feeling confident and happy I can do the job to the best of my ability. Trouble is if your being monitored by a manager that doesn't like you, and watches your every move in a van and the PDA they could do you for performance issues.

I agree with and understand that there is no back pay to April 2022. However, I thought the deal will only take effect from when we agree the deal with RM.

If we are to be paid from October 2022, that is still some element in f backpay. I am not saying that is what I wanted but it is not clear from Royal Mail and only God knows what the CWU think of the backpay element of the pay deal (is it something they want or is it even as important as some of the other guff they put out).

So now we don't want PDAs and Trimbles in vans when the competition allows customer to monitor drivers? A bit late in the day for that!
