I hope he does a lot more interviews. His grasp of figures is poor (each strike costing 100m a day. Due to lose between 350-400m a day by the end of the financial year). He can't answer simple questions. He is our biggest weapon in winning this strike. The more the public see and hear from him the more they will be on CWU's and the postal workers side.

The reality is the public dont care and never will.
They just see Trotsky millitants causing disruption like with the RMT dispute. People need to accept we are on our own

Great interview with Dave Ward and so true. Well done Dave. Nice to hear the truth.Dave says it exactly as it really is. This is what the public should hear.

What I got from that is the posties are doing a fantastic job representing a great service on the door step. And the only thing in the way of a profitable royal mail is trashing our terms and conditions.

What a way to thank the staff for proven hard work! Thanks Simon!

One thing that baffles me in all of this is Xmas and the run up is apparently our greatest threat in terms of industrial action. Can and will cause mayhem with the financial losses stacking up. We know it the board knows it Thompson knows it. So why all this upheaval now. A clever CEO would surely have kept quiet got Xmas out the way and then attacked us. Makes no sense. Presenting these changes to our terms and conditions he must have known no way would we agree. Deliberate financial ruin of the company seems his intent.

Just curious and not defending Simon Thompson but??

What exactly is the false information you believe he is giving out?

You have absolutely nothing to back up that 'reality'.
Indeed polls suggest a split at worse. Add to that we are far from on our own with Railway Workers, Train Drivers, Nurses, Lecturers, Dock Workers, various Council Workers, Barristers, Firefighters, BT Openreach all striking and/or intending to strike.
At last people in this country are beginning to stand up for themselves.

And that is exactly the problem, reluctance to accept reality. Saying that striking over the festive period would not create public hostility shows a lack of forsight. The hostility the RMT are getting at the moment with their new festive strike dates has backfired with public opinion

Funny,on all the interviews I’ve seen, the majority back the RMT & Mick Lynch
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

God's Teeth that interviewer was hardly a Paxman was he?

Simon must have given him a bung to take it easy on him. Basically just gave him free rein to spout his own BS! :cuppa
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)
