My payslip for Friday has what looks like a strike pay deduction. Considering we haven't gone on strike in a few weeks this seems a bit strange.
I've not been able to speak to manager yet. There's no reason that this week's strikes should be taken already. Maybe its a previous strike day that they've not taken? But It is also saying 9 hours. I'm on a 35 hour contract so any full days deductions should be 7 hours.
Anyone else had any issues?

Re: Strike pay deductions
Seems different areas do it differently, I deliver to a postie from the DO up the road and he seems to get his deducted the week after the strikes, I get mine deducted the week of the strikes (then added back the week after if/when they're cancelled)

Re: Strike pay deductions
It’s illegal for your manager to deduct for industrial action before it’s been taken. What if it was cancelled? Or what if you decide to go in and work on the day? (Not something I support btw just hypothetical).
The union put out an LTB with advice on claiming for unlawful deductions.

And why do they take a proportion of the delivery supplement with each day’s lost wage. I thought it was paid to just be in delivery.

Re: Strike pay deductions
Cheers, I'll hopefully be able to ask manager why on Saturday. Any other deductions have been the following week. It would help if it said on the payslip what day/week it was for. Then I could check if I was missing a deduction previously that they've picked up belatedly. It still wouldn't explain the 9 hours rather than 7.achak wrote: ↑23 Nov 2022, 21:37It’s illegal for your manager to deduct for industrial action before it’s been taken. What if it was cancelled? What kind of duty pattern are you on? If you’re on a 9 day fortnight or 4 day week then your longer days may be 9 hours.WiltsVilla wrote: ↑24 Nov 2022, 12:48Cheers, I'll hopefully be able to ask manager why on Saturday.
