YOU DON'T QUALIFY FOR REDUNDANCY UNLESS YOU CROSS THE PICKET LINE?
We were told this today;
Many of you have applied for redundancy at the unit, in fact it has been oversubscribed - but you won't be eligible for this if you continue to strike.
Anywhere else told this?

Re: YOU DON'T QUALIFY FOR REDUNDANCY UNLESS YOU CROSS THE PICKET LINE?
Who exactly was the person that told you this?
Think about it for a second.
How many people out of 115,000 have crossed the picket line so far?
Is it 10,000 ?
NO.
So if that rumour was even remotely true, it would be impossible to get 10,000 off the payroll.
And it would be easily challenged as discriminating against those individuals taking legitimate and legal strike action.
Not a chance in hell that the person is correct.

It would make more sense that they want those sticking to the picket lines out of the business.

They'll keep hold of the Lions, and let go of the sheep?
Nope.
Thompson's stupid, but not that stupid.

Don't know where this came from but I took a bit of stick today being called scab etc(just a laugh I can take and give it)because I applied for it but when I heard I knew there's no way this could be legal surely.

File under - “You don’t qualify for the Xmas bonus if you go sick in December”
The amount of times I’ve heard the managers peddle this fable over the years is astonishing

“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”

What we were told is pure intimidation. Scaremongering.Cedar_Room wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 08:50File under - “You don’t qualify for the Xmas bonus if you go sick in December”

Thompson has done this continually. The managers are briefed to dangle these threats over us.
You'll get nothing if you go on strike. We'll look after you and reward you if you cross the picket lines. All of the offers on the table will be taken away if you go on strike because the money will have to be used elsewhere.
The sad thing is that it works with the most trusting and vulnerable.

If any manager at my office made this claim about not being eligible for VR if continuing with strike action, I would publicly challenge them, be that in WTLL or at the shift huddle.POSTPERSON50 wrote: ↑22 Nov 2022, 09:12What we were told is pure intimidation. It’s bollocks. And the people stupid enough to believe this kind of thing need it shot down at source. Instantly.

I feel this Union has been led up the garden path!
Picture is futile. ST has outsmarted them. By being cold, deceptive and calculated.
ST has played em like a fiddle at every step. He is a specialist axe man, known for turning companies round.
Iwork for Parcelforce. We will get nothing.
But I still support them, down to the last day
Just slightly depressed at the thought of having to look for another job if annualised hours and Sundays come in.
Enough, we we should strike 5 days on the trot .
Hit em wher it hurts. I got nothing to lose now

do people not understand that applying for redundancy during an industrial dispute weakens youre own union which is you, quite unbelievable.Surely redundancies is a seperate issue for sorting down the line, come on people stand together and i mean everyone.
