This isn’t working, it hasn’t worked since day 1. Stop writing letters, stop plying for Facebook likes, stop with all the solidarity/we will win/fight of our lives. Simon Thompson doesn’t care. The majority of MPs don’t care.

Work to rule, week long strikes, tear up our own agreements (holiday pay farce), encourage everyone to log off any van with any defect no matter how minor.

Or

Accept we are screwed and try and negotiate a slightly better deal while accepting we won’t get what we want.

And to the ‘I’m glad I’m not with you in the trenches’ crew, I’ve done everything the union has told me to do and more, I started working to rule 10 months ago. But we can’t keep saying ‘bad kitty’ to the tiger as it’s cage starts to open. The union now need to revert to their plan B, if they have one.

The Government don't care, and this will be long over by the time the sacks of s**t in power, get voted out.

Writing letters to MPs is a desperate act at this point. Remember, those currently in power were the ones that privatised us in the first place. So the "private sector could manage the decline of the postal service" and get it off the government's books.

This is just the consequence of those actions taken in 2014. Albeit, at a more accelerated rate currently, than most people were expecting.

Nonetheless, the postal service is still a vital piece of national infrastructure, so it will be a long gradual decline of the service. But a decline nonetheless, and yes, privatisation rules will apply, they will asset strip the most profitable parts of the business.

Not only will they not come to our aid, they'll pass even more anti-trade union laws.

This dispute would have ended by September if it had been a continuous strike, the country rely on RM far too much. COVID showed that.

I reckon after 2 weeks the company would have caved due to government/public pressure.

It's a shame people don't have the same level of conviction for striking like they did back in 70s/80s.
